A little help, right here.

Updated October 16, 2026

Most lightingshot workflows run entirely in your browser. Start with the steps below if something doesn’t look right.

Install the extension.

  1. Download the extension ZIP and unzip it.
  2. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome, or edge://extensions in Edge.
  3. Enable Developer mode, click Load unpacked, and select the folder containing manifest.json.
  4. Pin lightingshot and open an ordinary HTTP or HTTPS webpage before capturing.

If a capture stops.

Keep the target tab active throughout the capture. Browser settings, extension stores, some protected viewers, infinite feeds, and nested scrolling panels may not capture completely. Try the visible-area option, then crop the result in the editor.

If an export fails.

Check that your browser allows downloads. Very large images can exceed browser memory limits; crop or import a smaller image and try again. Images must not exceed 32,000 pixels per side, 80 million pixels total, or 40 MB when imported.

Feedback and support.

A public support inbox is not available yet. Please do not send screenshots or private information to guessed email addresses. You can keep a local note with your browser version, the action that failed, and the displayed error for future troubleshooting.
