A little clarity goes a long way.
Updated October 16, 2026
lightingshot is a small tool for keeping a useful page, explaining an idea, or giving a little more context. It brings webpage capture, image annotation, and file export into one simple workflow.
Capture. Clarify. Keep.
The browser extension captures a visible area or scrolls an ordinary webpage to assemble a full-page image. The editor adds drawing, arrows, text, highlights, opaque covers, and cropping. Export a PNG, JPEG, or A4 image PDF when you’re ready.
Made to stay local.
Image editing happens in your browser. We do not run an image-upload service, require an account, or add advertising trackers. The extension asks for temporary access to your active tab and permission to run its capture script.
A straightforward first release.
Version 1.1.0 is a development build for Chrome, Edge, and compatible Chromium browsers. It is installed manually and is not listed in browser extension stores. The PDF export contains images rather than searchable text. See the homepage FAQ for capture limits.
